The Stag’s Head is owned and serviced by the Trivizas family since 2013 who started their hospitality at the Rock of Gibralter, Enslow Bridge in 2004.

Faith, Stamatis, John and Tim provide a warm and friendly welcome to all guests. Stamatis originates from Corfu and so there is no surprise that the restaurant offers special Greek classics as well as home made pub classics, Sunday lunches and a daily specials board. The bar offers a fine selection of real ales, ciders, International and Greek wines. To celebrate Stamatis’s origins a Greek night is held every month. You can choose to enjoy your meal and drink in the pretty private garden at the rear of the pub or inside next to the cosy log fire. To complete the offer, bed and breakfast accommodation is also available.

Wonderful overnight stay We had been for a spa day nearby just outside Banbury and had decided to book an overnight stay here based on the reviews. So glad we did, the owners Faith and Stamatis were so friendly and welcoming. We were celebrating our anniversary and they kindly left a card in our room when we arrived. The food is amazing, I opted for the Greek specials...feta and spinach filo parcels then chicken souvlaki-divine! The room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for a short stay. Breakfast was lovely, fresh fruit, Greek yogurt, toast, cereal with jams and honey ....it may not sound like much but it's executed so well. The pub/B&B is an amazing find, cannot recommend enough.

Lovely Old Pub We stopped here for one night. The hosts are delightful. The pub is picturesque with thatched roof. The room we had on ground floor was very pretty and comfortable and quiet. It has a lovely ‘old world’ feel. We ate here for dinner - very nice home cooked food. Highly recommend.

Greek night I’ve been driving past this pub for years and finally got the opportunity to go along to their once a month Greek night, and was not disappointed. The food was plentiful and homemade, and it was all extremely tasty, and it just kept coming and coming! Hats of to Faith and Stamatis, I really enjoyed the evening and will be back.

Excellent personal service along with some beautiful home made food. I had the daily special being the Beef and Ale pie, which was one of the most delicious pies I have ever had. Would highly recommend this to anyone in the area, just check-in with them for opening hours and food serving times.

Fabulous Food and Friendly Atmosphere We stayed in a holiday cottage in Swacliffe and ate at the Stag's Head a few times... the food was fantastic, especially the Speciality Greek food, and the portion sizes are really large, so build up an appetite before you go! The owners were so friendly, and made a real effort to chat to us. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area

Owners are a family, husband is Greek and English wife, two lovely sons that help out.The whole family very friendly, and make you feel at home.l Greek food, English food, whichever , it was all very tasty and good value. The location is so very peaceful, lovely beer garden, or seats at the front. Even the locals are really friendly.,Can’t praise this place enough, I would love to return.

Great stay Lovely little pub with rooms. Room was very comfortable. Not sure how it would be on a busy night, as the entrance is right in to the opening of the pub! Having said that, the location is quiet and very peaceful. The bed is comfy, shower is good, and I absolutely love how there is no single use plastic in the room! Tap water in carafe, coffee and sugar in jars, big shower gel, etc. Well done guys! Unfortunately I didn't get to have an evening meal as the restaurant was shut the night I stayed. Shame, because it looks so good from other reviews! The staff - so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast - great! Fresh fruit, lovely granola, local honey, Greek yoghurt and lovely thick toast. I will be recommending!

Lunch in an idyllic location On the way back from a delightful morning to the Cotswold Gin Distillery, we decided to stop off for lunch. Driving through Swalcliffe, we came across the Stags Head, and even though it was a wet day the pub looked so inviting. We were not disappointed, a warm welcome, great internal decor and a range of food to appease most. What interested us was the Greek dishes and on speaking with the owner who hails from Corfu (some 30 yrs ago), we both decided to have the Chicken Souvlaki, absolutely delicious, and reasonably priced. If your traveling in the area I would recommend this pub to you.

A little bit of Greece in the Cotswolds Was taken here for a couple of nights for my birthday and another couple of friends came along too. The pub is rather quiet at this time of year but that was how we wanted it to be. This is a small but very nice village. One one those places you explore from but return to the comfort of. A classic English pub with a Greek family twist. Has two good double rooms for a building of its age that are well kept and ideal to return to after a night by the fire in the bar. You could time your visit as we did and pay just £25 per person for the 7 course Greek night menu. It says 7 courses but seems like many more a huge banquet that keeps on giving. Paid around £150 for 2 people for 2 nights and breakfast. Then paid just £150 for 2 for all our meals and drinks, and believe me we did not hold back. We will certainly be booking again. We probably won’t get our Greek holiday this year but the Stags Head brought a wonderful Greek family hospitality to us. These 2 rooms should be full all year round. Of course I would highly recommend it.
